Rope access FAQs.

The questions we get asked most — what it costs, whether it's safe, how it stacks up against scaffold, and what we can and can't do at height in Melbourne.

How much does rope access cost in Melbourne?

It depends on the scope, building height, how long the work takes and the access required — so it's quoted per job, not at a flat rate. As a rule, rope access is cheaper than scaffold for most façade, inspection and remedial work, because there's little or no equipment to erect, hire and dismantle — you pay for the work, not for steel standing around the building. Send us the building and scope and we'll quote it.

Is rope access safe?

Yes. Rope access has a strong safety record and is tightly regulated — two independent ropes, certified technicians (Level 1–3), documented method statements, and a site-specific rescue plan on every job. We provide standby rescue on every scope.

Is rope access cheaper than scaffolding?

For most façade, inspection, remedial and spot works, yes — no access structure to erect, hire and dismantle. Scaffold wins only when the whole façade needs continuous access for a long period, or heavy materials are moved at height repeatedly. See rope access vs scaffolding.

How high can rope access reach?

Effectively no height limit on a suitable structure with compliant anchors — it's routinely used on the tallest towers, where scaffolding to the same height would be slow and costly.

Can you work on an occupied building?

Yes — rope access and EWP let us work the façade without full perimeter scaffold, using managed access zones, so tenants and residents stay in place with minimal disruption.

Are you insured and accredited?

Yes — certified rope-access technicians, $20M public liability, AGWA membership, QBCC and WorkSafe/WorkCover coverage, and an integrated management system (ISO 9001/14001/45001 certified via ATLAS, JAS-ANZ accredited).

What work can be done by rope access?

Façade maintenance and repairs, cladding rectification, glazing and glass works, painting and coatings, height-safety install and certification, inspections, electrical and mechanical works, rigging and welding at height, confined space, vegetation and slope works, and emergency make-safe. See all services.

Do you do emergency or after-hours work?

We provide rapid-response call-outs for emergency make-safe — broken glass, loose panels, storm damage and water ingress. Call us and we'll advise and mobilise.

Which areas do you cover?

Melbourne and greater Victoria from our Tullamarine base, plus Queensland (Brisbane and the Gold Coast), with DIDO/FIFO capability for regional and remote sites.
